Flame-resistant wadding is an indispensable component in most Estes rockets, except those utilizing tumble recovery. It is placed between the motor and the parachute, serving as a protective barrier. Its primary purpose is to prevent any harm to the parachute caused by the direct exposure to the ejection charge from the motor. Plastic parachutes are susceptible to scorching or melting when directly subjected to the ejection charge, which is where the recovery wadding comes into play. It absorbs the majority of the force generated by the ejection charge, shielding the parachute from damage.
The recommended quantity of recovery wadding sheets varies depending on the motor being used, ranging from a few to several sheets.
This package includes 72 sheets, providing sufficient wadding for approximately 18-25 flights. It is an indispensable requirement for successfully launching model rockets.

Our flat rate within the majority of Australia is $9.95 each order for standard courier or Australia Post delivery, but free for orders over $125.
Express shipping is available on most products at check-out.
Some of our larger items are bulky and heavy, and so they are excluded from the flat rate fee and free shipping. These may incur additional shipping charges based on your location. Please refer to our shipping policy or contact us for further information.
